This is that space in the semester where you get to do your own web analytics. I can’t tell you what or where online you ought to be “analyzing.” That’s up to you — and dependent on your research question(s). This said, you can email me if you are wondering where to start, tell me what kinds of information you think you could use, and then I will try to help.

As a series of steps, your research for this module should look more or less like the following:

Step 1:

Choose what you want to analyze. Make sure this is related to the web.

Step 2:

Find the data you need. Interrogate that data (i.e. think into it — what does the data you’ve found suggest to you?)

Step 3:

In 1 to 5 sentences, tell us what you found and how it can be of use to you in your research project.*

*If you aren’t finding anything useful, try changing your data source. If you still cannot find anything useful, name/list the data source(s) you attempted to analyze, followed by the words “not useful” as your answer to step 3, and I will reach out to you with other ideas.
