VIRTUAL EXAMPLES
Where is one really great place to find people proposing stuff on the Internet? … Yep. Exactly. KICKSTARTER
So, rather than trying to tell you a whole lot of things that may or may not be true about good oral presentations, I’ve decided to show you some examples. Then, in good, activist-learner fashion, you can decide for yourselves what does and does not work.
This means, in preparation for your own presentations later this week, you are about to click your way to six different videos made by six different individuals or groups who are/were proposing arts related projects on Kickstarter. Each of these individuals/groups has /had the same goal…
Goal: getting people to care enough about their projects (or about them, or both) to give them money.

It is probably a good idea to think about how you might get your peers to care about what you have done as a research project this semester. Does that sound cold? I mean it to sound like a cheerful challenge. It’s cool to do whatever you want. But in general, in 2019, it’s lucrative to convince other people to take an interest in whatever it is you’re doing. So think of this as practice for that?
